YORKTOWN, Ind. — Eli Burke, a 7-year-old from Yorktown, is tough. His parents, Michael and Katy, found that much out about six months ago.
Last August, Eli was racing dirt bikes in Wabash, Indiana, when he got into an accident. Michael, recalling the event knew it wasn't good, but didn't think it was too bad at the time because Eli, then 6 years old, didn't act like he was in that much pain on their drive home.
As they drove, however, they saw Eli appear sicker. Katy took Eli to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital to get him checked out.
