Monroe Central AD resigns, says he no longer qualifies

MUNCIE, Ind. — Monroe Central is searching for its next athletic director after Chris Landis resigned from the position.

Landis submitted his resignation on June 6, which was approved by the school board at their Tuesday meeting. Landis, who came to Monroe Central from Blackford in November 2014, will remain in the position until July 27.

Landis would not comment on the situation when reached by The Star Press on Wednesday. He instead referred questions to Monroe Central superintendent Adrian Moulton, who sent a copy of Landis' resignation letter.

"I would like to thank all of you, as well as this wonderful community we have moved to, for four wonderful years with the Monroe Central School Corporation," Landis wrote to Moulton and the school board.
