MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men's tennis team fell 5-2 to rival Western Michigan Friday afternoon in its Mid-American Conference opener at the Northwest Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Cardinals are now 8-8 on the season and 0-1 in league action while the Broncos improved to 9-7 in dual action and 1-0 in MAC play.
The doubles point went to the Broncos despite the Cardinals efforts. First off the court for Ball State, were this week's Ball State MAC Doubles Team of the Week, Thibault de Negri and Tom Carney. The duo fell to WMU's Jannik Opitz and Kennosuke Nouchi by a score of 6-3 on court two.
