MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State men's basketball team has been selected to play in the 2019 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The annual tournament, organized by ESPN, will be contested at the Stan Sherriff Center. The event has traditionally been played the week of Christmas, but dates for next year's tournament have not yet been set.
The eight-team field also includes Boise State, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Houston, Portland, UTEP and Washington. Each team will play three games, just like at ESPN's Charleston Classic, where the Cardinals played earlier this season.
The Diamond Head Classic is one of 10 college basketball events that is owned and operated by ESPN Events, a division of ESPN.
