CLEVELAND — For the first time since 2015, Ball State women's basketball is headed to the semifinal round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. Ball State beat Northern Illinois 60-54 in the quarterfinal round.
Ball State trailed by 17 points against Northern Illinois after one of its worst first quarter performances of the season. But the Cardinals slowly chipped away at the Huskies' lead. Ball State trailed by 13 points after the first quarter, 10 at halftime, four at the end of the third quarter and went on to outscore the Huskies 20-10 in the fourth quarter en route to the six-point victory.
