Laughlin, Yorktown win 10th straight title

MUNCIE — Yorktown's Brad Laughlin was in kindergarten when he received a flier at school for wrestling at Sheridan High School.

Most kids at that age are concerned with learning their colors, numbers and how to tie their shoes. Most probably don't have much of a concept of what wrestling is.

The difference between Laughlin (36-1) and those kids has led to him tearing through the Delta Sectional on Saturday, winning the 145-pound weight against Delta's Blake Green 11-2 and helping Yorktown win its 10th straight sectional title with a score of 276.

"I brought the flier home and told my parents, 'I kinda want to do this,'" Laughlin said, not knowing at the time how many bumps, bruises, bloody noses and busted lips he'd end up with.
