CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State baseball player Kevin Marnon was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week Tuesday thanks to his standout performance in the Cardinals’ 7-1 win over No. 6 LSU on March 11.
Marnon, hailing from Shelby Township, Michigan, started the series opener at LSU Friday night and went 5.2 innings, struck out four batters and allowed just one run in the Ball State victory. The lefty teamed with junior Zach Plesac to hold the Tigers to a season-low one run. The win was Ball State’s first over an SEC team since defeating Kentucky by a score of 10-8 in March 2014.
