PORTLAND, Ind. — During the first three years after Grant Zgunda retired from his position as Delta's head football coach in December 2015, he had no doubt that he had made the right decision.
Zgunda was named the athletic director at Delta a few months after he stepped away from coaching in 2015. It's a role he will continue through the end of the 2020-21 sports calendar. There are many aspects of being an AD that he has enjoyed, but Zgunda admitted that he missed having interactions with the students.
For years before he became an AD, Zgunda was a football coach, arguably one of the best coaches in the state.
