‘It’s awesome’: Cincinnati Reds' caravan brings Indiana native Josh VanMeter close to home

MUNCIE, Ind. — They came one after the other for nearly two hours, the Cincinnati Reds fans who Thursday descended on Stoops Automotive.

The West Tour of the 2020 Reds Caravan brought players to Muncie in pitcher Amir Garrett, infielder Jonathan India and utility-man Josh VanMeter. It brought broadcasters in Jim Day and Jeff Piecoro. It brought the Reds' vice president of player development in Shawn Pender. And their presence attracted about 450 fans in search of autographs, pictures and handshakes.

Some of them wore Reds hats.
