Inside BSU women’s tennis’ run to a Mid-American Conference title, and the NCAA tournament

MUNCIE, Ind. — In a matter of hours, Ball State’s women’s tennis team will compete in the opening round of the NCAA tournament against Vanderbilt.

The match is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. Friday in Columbus, Ohio. It’ll mark the second time a Max Norris-coached BSU squad will have this postseason opportunity — the first coming in 2016. It’ll be a chance for the Mid-American Conference regular season champion Cardinals to test themselves among the most talented programs in the country, however many depending on how far they advance.

But it took maneuvering through a pandemic-affected season to get there.
