Indiana State Uses Long Ball to Defeat Ball State, 8-2

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Dane Giesler and Clay Dungan each homered for host Indiana State, helping the Sycamores tally an 8-2 win over the Ball State baseball team Tuesday afternoon at Bob Warn Field.

Giesler's three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning put Indiana State (25-23) ahead for the first time, 3-2. The Sycamores added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings before Dungan notched a three-run long ball of his own to put the game out of reach.

Ball State (28-25) senior homered for the second straight game, a two-run shot in the top of the first inning, to give the Cardinals an early 2-0 lead.
