MUNCIE, Ind. — Yorktown gathered plenty of momentum heading into the Delta Sectional championship.
The Tigers swept Muncie Central 5-0 on Wednesday in the semifinals and will face the winner of Thursday evening's match of Burris and Delta. The Eagles have won seven straight sectional titles.
Yorktown's No. 1 singles player Samantha Academia and No. 2 singles player Sasha Academia each won 6-0, 6-0. Isabelle Collins earned a victory at No. 3 singles, splitting the first two sets 7-5, 1-6 before winning the third set by default.
In doubles action, the Yorktown duo of Cecile Rousseau and Anna Rosenthall won 6-1, 6-0.
