MUNCIE, Ind. — With girls swimming sectionals a little over a week away, local teams had one of their final tuneups Tuesday night. Yorktown took down Central, Jay County earned wins over Burris and Blackford, and Burris defeated Blackford.
Yorktown put for a strong performance in a 121-54 victory over Central. The Tigers got first-place finishes from Emily Weiss (200 free, 500 free), Kaitlynn Santino (200 IM, 100 free), Meri Gray (50 free, 100 fly), Lili Silividi (diving) and Catherine Grasso (100 breast). Sarah Billiter won the 100 back for the Bearcats.
Jay County beat Burris 110-54 and Blackford 122-44 as Alex Bader (200 free, 100 fly), Ashlyn Dow (200 IM, 500 free), Mackenzie Knisely (diving) and Eliza Bader (100 breast) took first for the Patriots.
