MUNCIE, Ind. — It's official: There will be a new Delaware County basketball champion in both boys and girls basketball.
A night after the Yorktown girls were eliminated, the Wapahani boys were defeated 66-53 by host Delta (11-0) in a rematch of last season's championship game. Wes-Del (9-2) picked up a 65-57 win over Yorktown in the second game Wednesday night at Delta. It was a good night of hoops as both games were closer than the final scores indicated.
Delta will play Cowan in the first semifinal at 6 p.m. on Friday, and Wes-Del will play Daleville afterwards.
