MUNCIE, Ind. — The Burris athletic program had a big day Tuesday as the volleyball and soccer took down a pair of schools in Delaware County.
The Burris soccer team overcame a shaky start to win its Eastbrook Sectional opener against Delta 7-1. Delta opened with a goal in the second minute, but Burris responded with four goals in the next 7:10 to seize control. Bracken Karnes scored five goals, including a hat trick during that opening flurry. Mason Waldron added two more goals, while Sam Bartrom had five assists and Drew Bartrom one. Alex Halley made 23 saves, boosted by the defensive performances of Eric Ma, Wilson Avila, Jacob Zeh and Nathan Danek.
