He left FSU and sat out 2020 to take care of his daughter. Now he's IU offense's spark.

BLOOMINGTON – Sevynn Matthews calls her father about as frequently as you can call a young man who is playing football and pursuing a master’s degree at the same time. Generally, whenever fifth-year senior wide receiver D.J. Matthews isn’t at Indiana’s practice and training facility or hitting the books, he’s on the phone or a video call with her.

But she’s only a year old and since she’s living with her mother in Georgia and he’s in Indiana, she just wants to see her daddy’s face at all times.

And he never minds.
