MUNCIE, Ind. — East Central Indiana was not left wanting for talent during last year’s girls cross country season, and 2019 should be no different.
Many of the athletes who challenged for individual sectional and regional titles return. The depth that allowed schools like Delta, Yorktown, Wapahani and Jay County to compete so well during postseason meets remains. And now the first competition of the year is just about here.
Here are five athletes you should keep an eye on when the season starts up:
Makayla Robles (Delta, sophomore)
Robles finished second during sectionals last year behind Randolph Southern’s Leah Keesling before a 14th-place finish at regionals and 43rd-place spot at semi-state.
