The Indiana High School Athletic Association girls basketball tournament began Tuesday night.
In East Central Indiana, there were 10 area teams who played on the first night of sectionals. Five of those teams — Blackford, Blue River, Cowan, Jay County and Union — who won their respective first round games. The five others — Daleville, Delta, Monroe Central, Wapahani and Wes-Del — saw their respective seasons come to an end.

Jay County 52, Delta 27
After a sloppy start from both sides early, Jay County (18-3) took control in the second half to defeat Delta 52-27.
