MUNCIE, Ind. — A former Muncie Central basketball star is coming home.
Ben Botts, a member of the Bearcats' state finalists teams in 2005 and 2006, is joining the Ball State men's basketball program as an assistant coach, the Star Press learned Thursday. He is taking the position vacated by Danny Peters, who recently left for Arizona.
Botts, who has spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Fort Wayne, will start his new job Friday.
"I’m really excited because coach (James) Whitford has done such a great job at Ball State," Botts said.
