MUNCIE, Ind. — As far as big-league debuts go, it doesn't get much better than what Zach Plesac experienced Tuesday night.
The former Ball State pitcher got called up for the Cleveland Indians to take on the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, the oldest MLB stadium. And Plesac performed admirably, starting and allowing one run in 5 1/3 innings while striking out two. He didn't factor in the decision of the Indians' 7-5 win, and he now sports a 1.69 ERA as a big leaguer.
Plesac even had a little surprise waiting for him after the game.
