Field Hockey Takes Another Tough Loss in Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Ball State field hockey team closes its weekend road trip with a tough 4-1 loss to #16 Iowa Sunday afternoon.

Both teams were scoreless in the first half until Ball State senior midfielder Mikayla Mooney scored on a penalty corner in the final minute. The goal was assisted by senior Bryce Barnes and senior Lexi Kavanaugh. The score marked Mooney’s third goal of the season.

The Hawkeyes went on to score the final four goals of the game, all in the second half.

The Cardinals will begin conference play on Friday, Sept.
