Eric Branz resigns as Yorktown basketball coach

MUNCIE, Ind. — Yorktown will have a new face on the sideline next basketball season.

Eric Branz has resigned from the position of head coach after two years, Yorktown athletic director Paul Heidenreich confirmed to The Star Press. Branz led the Tigers to a 12-33 mark during his tenure, including a 5-17 record this season.

"I think the fit is probably the biggest thing," Branz said. "The fit, when it came down to it, and the mentality didn't quite match the way that we would all hope."

Branz continued to say that he has had multiple conversations with Heidenreich and others throughout the season and more recently, and that this was "a good decision for everybody.
