Two area football teams — Delta and New Castle — advanced to their respective sectional championship games next weekend while the seasons for Monroe Central and Yorktown came to an end.
Here are the scores and stats from each of the sectional semifinal games featuring East Central Indiana teams:
Delta 49, Fort Wayne Wayne 18
With a 49-18 win over Fort Wayne Wayne, Delta advanced to its first sectional championship game since 2016.
The Eagles went up 7-0 in the first quarter thanks to an 11-yard TD run from Evan Conley.
