MUNCIE, Ind. — They’ve watched the games, sometimes in person.

They saw Ball State challenge Indiana in the season opener at Lucas Oil Stadium before an eventual loss. They saw the Cardinals collect their first win of the season against Fordham at Scheumann Stadium. They saw their future program put itself in contention for a second victory in 2019 against Florida Atlantic at home and North Carolina State on the road, although both would end in defeats.
