When coaches were allowed to start communicating virtually with athletes last month, the reigning IHSAA boys state diving champion had already cut his list down to three schools — Arizona, Indiana and Iowa. For Bennett, deciding between those three was the challenge. That is, until Tuesday.
The Delta senior's first call that day was with Iowa diving coach Todd Waikel, who finished his eighth season with the Hawkeyes last year. Bennett was looking for the answer to one question: Does Iowa have the ability to build a champion?
