MUNCIE, Ind. — Delta coach Mark Detweiler and Muncie Central coach Chandler Thompson had a friendly postgame exchange on the empty bleachers at Muncie Fieldhouse Saturday night.
The two shared smiles and a few laughs as Detweiler walked down the bleachers to join his team while Thompson walked up the rows of benches to conduct a postgame radio interview.
The Class 3A No. 9-ranked Eagles (4-0) remained unbeaten by beating the Bearcats 60-55 in overtime, handing Muncie Central (0-3) its third straight loss to start the year, but it was hard for either side to be upset at the final result.
