MUNCIE, Ind. — In one of the most heated track meets you'll ever read about, it was only fitting that a three-team race for the title came down to the final event.
Delta (112) narrowly defeated Yorktown (110) and host Central (108) to win the IHSAA boys track sectional on Thursday night. It was the first time the Eagles have won an outright boys track sectional championship since 2003.
"When we got the heat sheets, to pass some time and calm myself down I always score it," Delta coach Shane Conley said, "and I had us, Yorktown and Central within six points of each other.
