MUNCIE, Ind. — Just before Friday's storm rolled in, Delta girls tennis earned another trophy.
The hosting Eagles topped Yorktown 5-0 to win their 31st sectional title. The program has won 30 of its last 31 sectional tournaments, including 12 straight.
While every year and every roster is unique, this season's squad is especially young and inexperienced. Of Delta's top-8 players, five are underclassmen, and others transitioned into new roles. Yet they overcame some early-season self doubt and growing pains to continue the program's rich tradition of postseason success.
