MUNCIE, Ind. — Kylie Johnson knows all too well of the expectations that come with playing and coaching volleyball in Delaware County.
Johnson (formerly Dorton) played club volleyball in Muncie and at varsity volleyball at Delta, where she graduated in 2007. In high school, she helped the Eagles win a trio of sectional championships (2004, 2005, 2006), a regional championship and advance to the Class 3A semistate in 2006 where they lost to eventual state champion Roncalli. In 2008, after winning two more sectional titles, Delta won the Class 3A state championship.
Since then, Delta has won one sectional title (2013) while Delaware County schools have won a combined 15 state championships and appeared in seven more.
