MUNCIE — If there's one thing that Misty Perry has learned about her daughter, Mara Perry, it's this:
Don't tell Mara she can't do something because, if you do, she'll prove you wrong.
The Munciana product and Burris volleyball star recently announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at Virginia Tech University. A setter at Burris, Mara originally committed to Radford University in November, but followed former Highlanders coach Marci Byers, who was named Virginia Tech's head coach in late-January.
“As soon as I committed to Radford, I was like, ‘I finally did it,'" Mara said of achieving her life-long goal of playing Division I volleyball.
