MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State football team is ranked No. 23 in the final AP poll released after Monday night's conclusion to the college football season.
It is the first time the Cardinals have finished a season in the national rankings at the major college level and the first time they have been ranked at any point since December 2008.
The Mid-American Conference had two teams ranked in the final AP poll for the first time ever. Buffalo, the team Ball State defeated in the league's championship game, checked in at No. 25.
Ball State finished the season with back-to-back wins over ranked opponents, defeating the Bulls when they were No.
