Cardinals Cruise In Home Opener

Ball State broke open a close game in the late innings to win its home opener 9-4 over Fort Wayne on Tuesday. Noah Navarro continued his recent tear with a 4-for-5 day that included a triple, three runs and two stolen bases.

Tyler Ruetschle pitched two innings to earn his first career win and Tyler Schweitzer got the last six outs for the save. Ty Weatherly worked the first 4.0 innings and allowed two runs while striking out five. All of the Tylers together struck out 13 and worked with a bend-but-don't-break philosophy.
