BSU Athletics’ AD says department is ‘not having any discussions’ about dropping sports

MUNCIE, Ind. — There are collegiate athletes who have not only seen college athletics as a whole thrown into turmoil amid the COVID-19 crisis, but their respective institutions drop their sports in recent weeks.

Bowling Green eliminated its baseball program. Furman cut its baseball and men’s lacrosse programs. Akron eliminated men's cross county, men’s golf and women’s tennis programs. And there are others.

Ball State is not among the schools that have done so, though, and it doesn’t appear ever will be.
