Ball State-Toledo: Cardinals drop regular season finale as MAC conference tourney looms

Ball State wrapped up its regular season Friday on the road against Toledo, losing 89-70 to finish 10-12 overall and 8-9 against the Mid-American Conference.

The Cardinals failed to record their fourth-straight victory with the 19-point defeat, also proving unable to sweep the regular season series with the Rockets (20-7, 15-4 in MAC) in the process. BSU coach James Whitford’s squad fell short of registering another victory against one of the conference’s best so far this season. Ball State now must look ahead to its conference tournament, which is scheduled to begin Thursday in Cleveland.
