MUNCIE, Ind. — Mike Neu talked all week about that in order to take the next step as a program, Ball State needed to finish off a close game. The Cardinals had lost three one-possession games entering Saturday at Central Michigan.

As fate would have it, Ball State got the ball with 4:19 remaining and down by two points. Riley Neal led the Cardinals down the field and Morgan Hagee’s 36-yard field goal with 52 seconds left gave Ball State a 24-23 win.
