Ball State football welcomes 'coolest kid in Muncie' as new signee

MUNCIE, Ind. — His Monday began like so many of them have, with a trip to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.

Nine-year-old Dominick Landreth, a Muncie resident, was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease when he was born. He makes several trips to Riley Hospital each month.

But after his appointment, the day took a turn for the better.

Dominick was at the Venderly Football Center on Monday night, hanging out in the lobby when Ball State head coach Mike Neu appeared. Neu led Dominick and his family into the Scheumann Family Team Meeting Room, a theater style meeting area with 140 seats.
