Ball State football: 5 things to watch in season opener at Tennessee

College football is back, Cardinals fans.

In just a few hours, Ball State will open its season against Southeastern Conference opponent Tennessee (7 p.m. E.T., SEC Network), which finished just out of the Top 25 in both the preseason Associated Press (No. 26) and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Poll (No. 28).

This season brings plenty of intrigue for Ball State. After making a bowl game in back-to-back seasons, it graduated more than two dozen players last season. There's a new starting quarterback and plenty of new faces on both sides of the ball.
