Ball State football: 3 takeaways from home loss vs Western Michigan

MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State, which led by as many as nine points midway through the third quarter, lost its Mid-American Conference opener 37-30 to Western Michigan.

The Cardinals (0-2, 0-1 MAC) saw their 12-year home opener winning streak come to an end at the hand of the Broncos (1-1, 1-0 MAC), who scored 23 of the game's final 30 points.

Ball State's offense doesn't execute enough to win

It wasn't the greatest day for Ball State's offense.
