MUNCIE, Ind. — This wasn't the prettiest of Ball State's torrid stretch, but it counts just the same.

Ball State topped Northern Illinois 77-68 on Tuesday night in front of 3,745 fans. Trey Moses led the way with 23 points and 12 rebounds and Tayler Persons added 14 points and five assists as the Cardinals pulled within one game of West-leading Toledo with three games to play.

Sean Sellers tied Jesse Berry's career 3-point record of 224. The senior knocked down 2 of 4 from deep and had a wide-open look for the record but missed. That will have to wait until Friday.
