Ball State baseball has earned high marks in the classroom again, earning the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association. To earn distinction, a team had to earn a 3.0 team GPA.
The Cardinals had 18 players earn a 3.0 GPA or better (13 at 3.20 or better) during the 2019 spring semester, when the team went 38-19 and 20-5 in conference play. Ball State has earned the honor in each of the last four years, placing it among the highest-achieving baseball teams in the country:
ABCA Team Excellence Last 4 Years (NCAA Division I)
According to the ABCA, more than 300 college and high school programs earned the award.
