Ball State Athletics’ phased-return plan has university support, here is how it will work

MUNCIE, Ind. — Mike Neu said he wouldn’t allow himself to worry in recent months as he watched COVID-19 concerns throw into question whether college sports would take place this fall.

Ball State’s head football coach didn’t know what might happen, but he understood there were things out of his control and did his best to stay positive. He encouraged his athletes to continue to work hard, to stay motivated to remain active even if no one is watching. He’d remind them, “Tough times never last, tough people do.”
