Ball State director of athletics Beth Goetz accepted a position as the deputy director and chief operating officer within the University of Iowa athletics department, according to a message sent from BSU president Geoffrey Mearns.
Goetz' final day at Ball State will be on Sept. 23. An interim athletics director will be named this Friday, Sept. 9, and a search for Ball State's next AD will begin then.
"I am grateful to Beth for being an exemplary member of our University's leadership team," Mearns said in a release. "She embodies our enduring values, and she is the epitome of a servant leader.
