TUCSON — Ball State is competing in its first bowl game since the 2013 season, and against San Jose State has the chance to win the Cardinals' first bowl game in program history.
BSU reached this point after going 5-1 in the regular season and then defeating Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference championship to reach a 6-1 mark. The conference title was the Cardinals' first since 1996. They are facing a San Jose State team that is undefeated at 7-0 and is the Mountain West Conference champion.
