MUNCIE, Ind. — Several Yorktown athletes and a Wapahani athlete will be up for awards Thursday night.
The Yorktown volleyball team, as well as Olivia Reed and Kenzie Knuckles individually, Yorktown's Emily Weiss and Wapahani's Skyler Van Note could walk away with hardware at the Indiana Sports Awards hosted by IndyStar at Clowes Memorial Hall.
Former Indianapolis Colts punter and current Barstool sports employee Pat McAfee is a guest speaker.
Presenters include 1954 Mr. Basketball Bobby Plump, 1969 Mr. Basketball George McGinnis, Colts long snapper Matt Overton and Indiana Fever coach Pokey Chatman.
Yorktown's volleyball team is up for Team of the Year, while Reed was nominated for Scholar Athlete and Weiss is in contention for Girls Swimming Athlete of the Year.
