After season-ending ACL tear, how Anna Clephane, Ball State women's basketball plan on moving forward

MUNCIE, Ind. — The good news is Anna Clephane's been here before. The bad news is, well, she's been here before.

With 5:25 left in Ball State's game against Kent State on Jan. 9, the junior came down and tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee. Immediately, Clephane knew what happened. So did Ball State women's basketball coach Brady Sallee.

Three years earlier, Clephane tore the ACL in her left knee, ending her freshman season after nine games. Having her freshman season cut short was one thing. Clephane said she was upset for "two minutes" then shifted her focus onto the rehabilitation process.
