MUNCIE, Ind. — In some respects, Jim Craig never thought that this would've happened.
As the long-time head volleyball coach at Wapahani (1977-94), Craig spent nearly two decades competing against Burris, led then legendary coach Steve Shondell. Many of the matches were competitive, Craig said, but Burris also won eight state championships from 1982-95.
"I think I was there 18 years and, you know, half the losses at the time I had were to Burris," Craig said. "They were just the team that you tried — they were the standard.
