After 85 wins in four years, former Monroe Central coach looks for fresh start at Yorktown

MUNCIE, Ind. — On the heels of a success-filled four-year run as Monroe Central's girls basketball head coach, Leigh Ann Barga admitted Tuesday night was an emotional one for her.

After winning 85 games in four seasons at Monroe Central, Barga decided it was time for the next chapter of her coaching career. She was approved Tuesday night by the Yorktown school board as Yorktown's girls basketball head coach. It ends a nine-year run on Monroe Central's staff.

"Nine years, that's a long time," she said. "You meet a lot of good people.
