There, on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, during the second quarter of Ball State football’s 2019 season opener against Indiana, he sat down perplexed. Whatever happened moments earlier when he attempted to change direction on a blitz to get to the quarterback, he couldn’t push off his left foot and he didn’t understand why.
