MUNCIE, Ind. — They lined up across the five courts that make up Delta High School's tennis court. "Server survivors," more than 45 of them, were there Tuesday at Delta for the ninth annual Smash Cancer fundraiser hosted by Delta's and Yorktown's girls tennis team.
More than 50 "server survivors" were listed in the program. They are people that are fighting or have fought various forms of cancer along with people honoring those who fought and survived and those who have lost their lives to cancer.
In unison, before the rain ended up canceling the girls tennis match between Delta and Yorktown, all of them served together while hundreds of family and friends cheered from outside the fence.
