MUNCIE, Ind. — Byron Ellis’ time working with Ball State head football coach Mike Neu stretches further back than just the time they’ve spent in Muncie together.
They’ve overlapped at professional and collegiate football opportunities. In the past Neu has described Ellis, BSU’s director of football administration/chief of staff and someone who’s worked in arena football, the National Football League and United Football League, as his first hire upon becoming the Cardinals’ head coach. Whatever needs to be taken care off of the field — whether it’s something with the equipment managers, training staff, travel or otherwise — Ellis does.
